The Slippery Rock University Cheerleading Program has an open door
policy. If you are interested in trying out for the coed team you must
complete the application and waiver and submit it along with a current

April 23: COED Stunt Clinic ($35per GIRL)
April 24: Tryout
Attire:
Girls-Shorts, Top, Cheerleading Shoes
Guys-Shorts, Shirt, Shoes (PLEASE NO STREET SHOES)
September, 2004 All-girl Team
COED Requirements:
Cheer: (taught at the tryout)
Girls: Back Handspring, Handspring Tuck, Round-off Back Handspring Tuck (any additional tumbling skills will also be judged)
Guys: Standing Tuck recommended, but not required (any additional tumbling skills will be judged)
Coed Stunts: (No previous experience needed, will be taught at the tryout. Girls, please have a stretch with your left leg.)
*Note: Potential will also be looked at. If you do not have all these skills, you may still have what is being looked for.*
All-Girl Requirements:
Cheer & Dance: (taught at tryout)
Jump: Double Toe Touch
Stunting: (will be evaluated at tryout)
Tumbling: Back Handspring (any other tumbling skills will be judged)
Positions:
*The coed team consists of 8-10 male and 8-10 female members. The coed team cheers at all home and away conference football games, men and womens basketball games, and represents the university at UCA's National Competition in Orlando, Fl.
*The all-girl team consists of 16-20 members (4-5 tops, 8-10 bases, and 4-5 back-spots). The all girl team cheers at men and womens basketball games, and competes at NCA Nationals in Daytona Beach, Fl.
